Brolic... Alcoholics

This fight happened today 25 years ago. Taylor was thoroughly whuppin' Chavez ass. One thing that was always a misconception about Taylor was that becuz he was fast, people thought he was elusive. Dude was ok defensively but he allowed himself to get hit a lot.

Steele is one of the WOATS...he also fukked up our oppurtunity at seeing prime Tyson-Holyfield in '91 with that goofy ass stoppage in the 1st Ruddock fight...when everything was lining up perfectly for Tyson-Holyfield to face eachother in either the summer or fall of that year. :snoop:

Also...Chavez Sr. has to be the most overrated boxer in history...outside of possibly Jack Dempsey

Meldrick should've won but :damn: no man should ever take a beating like that. I remember watching the Legendary Nights episode of this fight and being awed by the sheer brutality of it. Those Philly fighters are too tough for their own good

Right man won. Taylor was asked 2 times, "are you ok?". He never answered. Game over.
It was about 10 seconds before the bell if I'm not mistaken. Part of me thinks he should've been given the benefit of finishing, but then again maybe it was good to stop it

Go watch Mosley Mayorga. Exact same ending sequence, but the ref let the fight continue and Mosley landed one more brutal shot. Chavez may have killed Taylor that night with one more shot.

Chavez took a beating in this fight too. I don't think he was the same either afterward. But damn Taylor got the beats put on em. I can't even be mad at that stoppage because he was done.
