Fellas, Anyone Here Have/Gotten Decent Jobs W/ Afros Or Dreads?

I know it may seem like a ridiculous question, but it's on my mind.
If you have gotten a job w/ an afro/dreads, were you put on to the job(someone referenced you) or did you go inquire about the job yourself?

Just get a retwist before interview, look neat, if you got dreads. I have been promoted many times since getting dreads. But been at same company since 98

I used to rock a fro like Allen Iverson's on the cover of SLAM; I went on one interview with that shyt (at a fukking Food Lion grocery store) and was told the manager/interviewer wasn't there that day. Come to find out later, the person who I asked to get me the manager WAS the manager and I guess she figured on sight she wasn't gonna hire ya boy.
