Most fans know Tito Trinidad, but how many of you know David Reid? I was high on this kid and I feel this he was on his way, however, he was cursed with Ptosis aka a droopy eye that perhaps hindered him from going to the next level. Also let's appreciate the ferocious young Tito who moved up in weight To fight the champion, the boy was no joke, they don't make em like him anymore. Anyway check out this fight with these two young warriors and give your thoughts and analysis.

David Reid the golden boy of the 96 olympic boxing team

It's still amazing that even with that eye..he still managed to win a title and get some title defenses in..Reid had quite the right hand even though his KO record didn't really reflect it..it was pretty heavy

the people in Reid's team cashed him out at a big price..Tito ruined this boy...Tito had that slow start and even got KD...once he warmed up,. the experience took over...he beat the shyt outta him...landed a shytload of Puerto Rican specials too ..that fight should have been finished after the 11th round...there was no need for a moral victory for Reid lasting the distance

I swore up and down that Dave was going to win this fight. His people were jackasses and yes I agree with you they did cash him out. Tito did destroy him, the towel should've been thrown in because he got dropped too many times. Dave was physically ready but not mentally and his corner definitely wasn't ready. I felt bad how his condition ruined him even more. At Puerto Rican specials. Tito was bombing from every angle with no worries!

and another thing that he did that finished him up was that he went to MW after that fight..those fights were not pretty...some of the punches tito landed were ridiculous...that left hook/right uppercut combination that put him down for the first time in that 11th round

David Reid is my step brother. thought they rushed him into this fight and it ruined his life

Yeah this fight was on SHO Extreme last week hadn't run it back since the live fight in 2000 I was thinking Reid could beat him too.

This one of the reasons I'm concerned about my boy Bryant Jennings. I think they moving him way too fast and he doesnt have the amateur background that David had

the way to beat trinidad is to jab and to press down and push off of your front foot to move back and/or away from the counter.

that gets you in and out when you jab. now trinidad cant counter your jab. now you can jab a lot.

jabs are poison to trinidad and because you create a lot of slipping when you throw it you can use it to move his head into a right hand.

reid was very inactive against trinidad and that tends to come from a fear of being countered. just throwing the jab a different way would have made a big difference there.
