Its weird. I hate on the prequels less and less as I get older.

Someone told me to imagine it as Obi Wan taking his girl and it makes too much sense.

The original is of course the originator and deserves the most respect
RotS perfected the grand scale galaxy-wide plot Lucas had been attempting the past 2 prequels. Finally the fully realized SW universe.
RotJ dropped ilusions of the characters being heroic in any way which I appreciated. War isnt about heroes. Its the most mature and politically unbiased of the OT which allowed it develop the SW lore the strongest.
TPM played with interesting themes that resonate today and is still a spectacular technical acheivement.
ESB is too small a film for me, and since I dont particularly like these characters I cant relate to their plights or understand the significance of events unfolding in the grand scheme of things.
AotC backtracked a lot of TPMs advancements in favor of selfish moralizing and stunted emotion pandering.
TFA is just bad. JJ Abrams is an eternal journeyman.
