It's telling the only stories that are dramas these prestige networks seem to greenlight that have black people in them are period pieces. Nothing futuristic whatsoever. It's irksome.
Didn't Netflix just green light Altered Carbon with Mackie as the star? I don't watch that show but I thought it was futuristic.

We'll see. That's one character. We have to see how they fill out the rest of the cast. I never got the sense that Altered Carbon was told through the lens of a black person (Takeshi Kovacs). First season was a meandering mess though.
