2 of the best fighters in the history of the light heavyweight division. Both unified all titles during their runs at 175, both are Hall Of Famers, both moved up and won heavyweight titles and both kicked a helluva lot of ass

Spinks best wins at 175: Dwight Muhammad Qawi, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad

RJJ best wins at 175: Montell Griffin, Virgil Hill

Spinks has the power advantage dude was a monster puncher at 175 that Spinks Jinx wasnt no joke and KTFO many a nikka with that right hand. RJJ has the speed advantage in this matchup. This would be a hell of a fight. Who you got?

shyt, tough one. As much as I love Roy (he's my favorite fighter) I have to go with Spinks.

Spinks has the height advantage at 6'3 and has a very awkward style. Great boxing skills and massive power. Roy has the advantage in speed, but I'm not sure he'll be able to keep Spinks off him all night. And I won't say Jones chin was bad, it was better than people give him credit for. But Spinks was a massive puncher. And if Spinks caught him, he would hurt him really badly. I won't count Jones out, and could see him squeaking out with a victory. But I think more often then not, he doesn't make it out with a W because Spinks stylistically is just all wrong for him.

Spinks by UD or late KO/TKO

I'm not taking anyone at 160-175 over prime RJJ:manny:

Michael Spinks was a beast, but even though he had all that power, I dont think he would've been able to hit RJJ who had the quickness/reflexes of a cat, plus power of his own.

I hear you. Not too many fighters I would take over Roy. But Spinks is a tall order for Jones, no pun intented. He has the height advantage on Jones, plus he was just really awkward. Plus his handspeed was underrated. if he puts the pressure on Jones, I don't see how Roy can keep away for all 12 rounds.

Eventually IMO, Spinks would catch him. And like he showed against Marvin Johnson, all he needed was one punch

I would definitely take Spinks if they fought at Heavyweight, but at Light Heavy I would pick Roy.

Spinks did have that KO power though. Shame he retired after only 1 loss to Mike Tyson. He still would've been right there near the top of the division

thats the thing mike didnt love boxing like that..after the olympics he was content on being a janitor until butch lewis pushed him into the ring...after tyson and getting paid he was done mentally

they both hit like a ton at 175 but roy was far faster than spinks...speed kills..i would say roy wins a competitive decision over him

Spinks: Roy couldn't match Spink's jab if he tried and that right hand would have Roy thinking twice about darting in with lead left hooks. Spinks was a 15 round fighter so in a 12 round bout he'd be able to be more active and would outwork Roy for the most part. Roy's chances on the inside wouldn't be all that good either, 6'3 Spinks was incredible in the fact that he could fight on the inside like it was second nature. It's a fight of extremely high boxing IQ and physical god-given gifts. Only problem for Spinks would be that Roy's foot & hand speed would give him problems, though I honestly think at 175 Spink's hand speed was a bit better, but Roy was so accurate with his shots he'd get his shots in but not enough to win a decision in my eyes.
