Fantasy Basketball

How many of you guys do fantasy basketball too? I need something to help kill the time between the football and baseball season and love the NBA. I'm not a huge fan of fantasy basketball though. I only did one league last season which is really low than what I do in comparable sports. This year I'm pretty excited to play though because I think there are a lot of sleepers and break-out players. I think OJ Mayo and Marcus Beasley are two guys who are going to have big years. Wrote an article about it on my site, but what players are you guys looking at this year?

We definitely have to start a league this year. Its def my weakest fantasy sports. Hopefully I can turn things around. Probably won't be writing much fantasy basketball, just entertaining stuff during that time

I normally just see what Bill Simmons recommends, and then make trades based on everyone's averages. I used to love trading with Merc... It works, I almost won a few years ago, and then did win like I said 2 years ago. My keepers killed me last year...

We have a official carry-over league we'll do again. I'm sure you cna get some other ones going.

We do a 16 team straight Roto league with FGM/FG%/FTM/FT%/POINTS/OREB/DRED/TOTREB/AST/BLK/STEALS/AST-TO% - Auction draft/keeper league. Fun as all hell.

BBall is hard since its best done as ROTO and if you aren't on your shyt and trade accordingly its tough as shyt to make your move.

I enjoy Roto leagues, especially for baseball. One thing I found I hated about basketball is that even if you have talent, if you don't have starter minutes you're worthless. It is so tempting to get Marcus Beasley with all that talent waiting for a breakout season and then he comes off the bench. Thad Young was looking like a solid sleeper, but is still suppose to come off the bench.

True, but roto basketball is great because anyone can be traded and usually does get traded if theirs a category match for both teams.

You also really can't hae more than 1 guy starting who only does 1-2 things well because 2 or more will just make it impossible to overcome.

Lots of of trading, lots of logic and lots of luck.

It took me 3-4 years to get the hang of roto basketball. In the early 2000's I was placing in the bottom third in the official leagues for like 3 straight years.
