A album full of soulful songs and its :mindblown: that sh*t is boring

A album full of trap songs and its :mindblown: all that sh*t sound the same

A album of mix of trap and soulful songs and its :mindblown: it should of been more soulful songs or it should of been more trap songs

its funny how the same people that say ross trap sh*t sound the same is the same fans of gucci mane and the whole bricksquad movement :stopitslime: and the same people that say ross soulful sh*t is boring is the same fans of nas :what:

SO i came to the conclusion either fans are just hating or just really confused and don't know what music they really like

if you're judging an album as one whole complete body of work, then an entire disc of the same shyt is going to get monotonous (for the majority)

the majority of the great albums have good diversity which gives them longevity and makes them more entertaining.

even the ones which don't switch it up, say illmatic, tend to be shorter... ain't the wider public trying to hear 18 joints of hard spitting... only the hardcore heads.

Thats what im saying when a n*gga mix it up then all you hear is he should of had more songs like the first couple of songs or more songs like the last couple of songs. N*ggas dont really know what they want. Then n*ggas see a tracklist and be like he should of put such and such on there from his mixtape then it end up being a bonus song and n*ggas be like that song is old why he put that on there that was on his mixtape

I disagree somewhat - fans may not know what they like, but they know what they don't like...

They don't like variety in a single project as much as they might lead on. Most albums today try to do too much to get everybody in - the "club banger", the "girl" song, the "crossover" hit, the "fast spit" song, etc...As a result, you don't get an album, you just get songs.

People do like consistency. Not predictability, "consistency". People like the artist to be who they are, so they know what to expect. Like Chad said:

"If you was a cartoon character on your first album, don't be killin' people and sellin' dope on your next album."

Sometimes, you want to hear an album with all "soulful" songs.
Sometimes, you want to hear an album with all "trap" songs.

That said, everybody also doesn't want the same thing...

Well what people got to understand is these people dont stay the same forever they go thru different things and in somebody's first album he may have been on some shoot em bang sh*t but on his next album he may have experience things to where he dont want to rap about that subject anymore.People do evole and go thru different experiences.

You right everybody doesnt want the same thing therefore these rappers have many different fans some want trap some want soulful some want club some want rnb and as a artist if you are capable of catering to all those and good at it it shouldnt be a problem cause everybody will get what they want.Fans got to quit being so selfesh and understand there are millions of fans just like them that love the sh*t that they hate. You cant just expect a n*gga to just do soulful songs when he got a million other fans that want to hear that trap sh*t from him too.And the crazy thing about it is the main people that complain about a "wack" album never bought a album in their life to be discussing how it should of been like this or that if you gone criticize something atleast buy the sh*t first
