Facebook Conversations and erasing them...asking for a "friend"

Is it as simple as just un-friending? Does that get rid of the conversation? He can get rid of his side easily, but how does he ensure their side vanishes as well? I may know someone that said somethings on there they he wouldn't want his wifey to ever see.

I wouldn't do that as its most likely a crime, but if you have "how-to" links to back up that "duh", the I'll gladly share them with my friend.
