TLDW recap? (Too long didn’t watch)

I watched half of this last night

Apparently influencers think that these affiliate links are gaining them money on the side. But PayPal (owns honey, a chrome extension that searches for better prices on merchandise) secretly pockets the money and the influencers have no idea

That's what I've gathered so far

right on the money.

the rest of the video goes into how businesses can control what coupons honey uses/searches for. like if you found a coupon for 25% off that you know works, but tried searching it w/ honey, that shyt won't come up if the business excludes it from the coupons it gives honey

honey will also change the cookie if you click on any of the buttons, even when it didn't find any coupons.

This came across my recommended vids...interesting as hell video. I do have the extension installed but rarely have used it.

but them practices for both the consumer/influencer/business are shiesty as hell

Honey has saved me hundreds of dollars this year. It does spy on you and what you browse but with Best Buy Plus I got a 60 day price match window and if I look at something Honey adds it to a list and emails me if the price falls. I just do an online chat on Best Buy's website and they credit me the difference.

I've also redeemed offers they give me PayPal credit for. My Chase Freedom gave me 5% cash back on PayPal purchases the last 3 months and Honey stacked with it.

I was just about to buy Spiderman MM off Walmart cause Honey had a $1.99 cash back offer and it's $19.99. Walmart has the nerve to charge me a $6.99 fee because I ordered online for in store pick up and the order wasn't $35 or higher. I can get up and walk in the store right now and buy the game for $19.99 but if I order online I gotta pay a fee? :dahell:
