Expired Protien Shake

I found two containers of unopened protein powder in my house, but the expiration date is for 2009.

Am I good to use them since they havent been open or are they bad?

2009 is pushing it, I wouldn't use it. A few people use expired protein and seem to be fine, but that's only a month or few after expiration.

Open one and smell it, if it smells like chicken no go.
@Reign X I used protein that was a almost 2 years passed it's expiration date, never had a problem.

I called VitaminWorld (saw a sticker so it had to be from there) and they said I shouldn't use it. But I opened it and it smelled fine.
