Remember when he tried to blame Nas for delaying his album a few months after this?

I remember vividly. Went to my grandma's house for Christmas that year. The expectation, according to 2 Dope Boyz and various other rap blogs, was that the album would drop at some point on Christmas. I knew I'd be disconnected from the (internet) world while at my grandma's but felt great knowing that when I finally got home later that day, I'd be able to listen.

All while at her house I was waiting to leave. Didn't check my phone because I wanted to experience it with no outside opinions. Finally got home and not only saw it didn't come out, but Just Blaze and Jay Elec claimed Nas hadn't submitted his verse on time and that delayed it. I was pissed lmao. Wasted my entire day expecting something that never came. But even that wasn't terrible because I felt aite...if it's just one verse, surely it'll be out before New Years right? MLK Day at the latest right?
:mjlol:

fukk this bum. Missed his moment. Hip hop got so much better in late 2010/2011 (Cole, KRIT, Spitta, Kdot, Roc Marci, Xquire, El-P/Killer Mike, etc etc) that it didn't even matter to me. Breh could have been apart of a great era of rap. Oh well, who cares. He got his money and the ability to live comfortably...that's all that mattered to him.

I just hope we get a Behind The Music or some shyt on dude

He clearly is a gifted writer but not concerned with making music at all. He seems to move in various circles from the hood to the underground to black elite to elite-elite, messing around with a Rothschild chick and seemingly never needing to work again. New Orleans to Benzino to Badu to Dilla to Diddy to Just Blaze to the Rothschilds to Jay to becoming a Twitter Fingers...

I'd like to see how dude got to that point, and how he has been able to sustain himself while maintaining a loose affiliation to the game with the odd tweet or guest verse keeping his name alive. It's so unusual to see a rapper have this kind of talent and access, yet choosing not to do anything with it. Did he secretly come from money or was he in a different line of work all along??

Nothing about this dude makes sense lol

We all got scammed. By a nikka that went from being homeless to fukking a so-called Illuminati Heiress. On some Keyzer Soze shyt.

Fans: ":mjlol: why can't you undo real locks, Professor? (why can't you put out a real album?)

Jay Elect: ":sas1: Maybe I'm just biding my time. Maybe one day I'll open my hand, get your attention..... and ask 'Are you watching closely?' Maybe a magic word or two..... and then I'll be...... gone. *appears to fumble the trick* (maybe I'll razzle dazzle y'all with these mixtape verses and get yall all hot and bothered and waiting on my album which is undoubtedly the greatest album in history.... then I'ma disappear on dat azz and leave you stuck on me like an abused wife- whoops I said too much!)

Fans: ":mjlol: How'd you get so famous then, eh!? (How you gonna accomplish all of this shyt without putting out an album!?)

Jay Elect: ":manny: Magic. *walks off a 'free man' after leaving the fans chained up and waiting via distraction and misdirection*

Fans: ":dwillhuh:................"

Jay Elect: :jawalrus:

Fans: ":damn: HEEEY! GET BACK HERE! WHERES MY BLOODY KEY!? (where the fukk is the fukking album!? Why I keep running back everytime I hear some song so old that I forgot it came out 5 years ago!? heeey! :sadbron:)

Jay Elect: "Thank Yeeeew! :salute::lawd:

Jay Electronica is like the anti French Montana

One climbed to the top of the industry before our very eyes with minimal talent, once he got there, marked his territory all over the damn place, worked with anyone and everyone who could help maintain his spot. No one is really asking for him, yet he's still here lol...

The other climbed to the top in the most clandestine fashion. Is possibly one of the best rappers period, yet refuses to release anything despite there still being a strong appetite for dude to drop after 10 years of basically nothing tangible aside from 2-3 joints and a few verses scattered about
