I"m no expert but from what i've been told that truck would have had to get around some concrete shyt before it could make it all the way to the base, i'm inclined to believe it didn't blow up in the center. IF it was that easy to drive a bomb into a base they'd be doing it on a daily basis and killing thousands of americans a day.
