A lot of talk about Okada this year having one of the GOAT calendar years in wrestling.
This had me thinking about what are some other good examples. Not just in terms of quality matches, but in terms of drawing, impact, promos, hot angles etc.
For me Austin in '98 is probably the GOAT. Set the business on FIRE. Dominated every Raw, began his feud with Mr. McMahon which turned the Monday Night Wars on their head, had the Tyson fukkery, had his big Wrestlemania moment, also had one of the best matches of the era against Foley at Over the Edge. Too many great moments...the zamboni....kidnapping McMahon....beating Kane for the title on Raw.
Hogan '87 or '89 and Flair '89 are some other contenders. Rock in 2000. Jericho in 08.
