Bob Marley died in 1981 after cancer originally found in his toe spread throughout his body.
The reggae legend had turned down his doctor's advice to have the toe amputated and sought non-traditional treatment.
Now 79-year old Bill Oxley, who says he used to be a CIA operative, claims it was he who gave Marley the cancer.
According to Oxley, he used fake press creditionals to get close to Marley and gave him a gift of a pair of shoes -- which Marley then tried on.
“I gave him a pair of Converse All Stars. Size 10. When he tried on the right shoe, he screamed out ‘OUUUCH.‘ That was it. His life was over right there and then. The nail in the shoe was tainted with cancer viruses and bacteria. If it pierced his skin, which it did, it was goodnight nurse," Oxley said.
Oxley claims he killed 17 people for the CIA between 1974 and 1985. Each, including Marley, was deemed to pose a "threat to the interest of the United States."
The CIA has denied involvement in Marley's death.
