ey were first in the league (.716) when it came to guarding isos last year, and that’s down to 24th this year (.878). They were second (.711) on pick-and-rolls with the ballhandler attacking, and are just 25th this year (.838).
But the worst offenders have been the guys in the Miami backcourt, Mario Chalmers and Allen. Chalmers gives up 1.154 points per possession when defending isolation plays, and Allen gives up 1.121. That’s the worst two ratios in the league for players who have defended at least 25 such plays.
