I was never a fan of the X-men or mutants in general in Marvel. Gaining powers just because seemed a little too convenient and a lot of the powers were lame or just ridiculously over powered.

They were born with them. It's hard to come with origin stories.

Yeah, I feel you...

But the Claremont/Cockrum/Byrne/Smith era in the comics (late 70's-early 80's)is way more GOAT
