This article is pretty old. He's had cats for a long time. :blessed:
Hip-Hop legend Snoop Dogg may be named after a canine, but his heart is reserved for cats. Snoop Dogg first got his nickname from his mother who jokingly remarked that her son looks like the Peanuts character Snoopy. However, his mother may have been more correct in choosing a feline name for her son since the only animals in the music star’s life at present are his two Siamese cats, which he named after musical legends Frank Sinatra and Miles Davis.

Snoop Dogg claims that he is through with dogs and in turn adopted Frank and Miles as his companions. He said they remind him of the cats that lived in the alley behind his house, where he grew up in Southern California. Apparently Snoop Dogg is returning to his roots by letting the dogs out and bringing the cats in.

Despite his busy life as a father to Frank and Miles, Snoop Dogg has finally reunited with his two childhood friends, Nate Dogg and Warren G. The three have recently teamed up to finish their first record that has been 10 years in the making. Their group, “213,” is named after the area code in Long Beach, California, where the three grew up and worked together before making a name for themselves. The trio made a pact back then to come together and finish what they started if they all became successful in their solo careers. Their new album The Hard Way is a compilation of their musical ideas, and Snoop Dogg says the recording process was “all about the best; the best music, the best producers, the best.”

So, it seems the old tale does not always hold true; dogs and cats can and do get along.
