The orgin of the word "Rap" Latin or Caribbean? No.

"Rapping" talking in rhyme before introducing a song on the radio by a Black American Disc Jockey.

I will post an example of Cathy Hughes ( Black Entrepreneur owner of radio stations and TV channel TVoNE stations in DC and across the country) mentioning radio DJs "rapping".
