Erin Andrews Is Leaving ESPN?

Well, this is a pretty large bit of news to break at 6:30 p.m. on a Friday – Erin Andrews, longtime sideline staple at ESPN, is leaving the company, according to ESPN itself. Exactly where she’s going hasn’t been announced (based on this report from SI’s Richard Deitsch, she’s probably moving to Fox Sports), but she’s definitely going.

ESPN did make a big increase offer to @ErinAndrews but she turned it down. Once it was rejected, Bristol said thanks we are moving on. 1/2

ESPN has no idea where @ErinAndrews is going, but her last official day is tomorrow. Negotiations failed before word of potential Fox offer.

Bottom line: ESPN was not going to get into a bidding war; @ErinAndrews no doubt has offer in back pocket, probably from Fox.

By the way, ESPN's offer to @ErinAndrews was for more money, but not for more duties. Basically same assignments.

Bristol was willing to let @ErinAndrews go if it wasn't at the right price. She is gone, probably to Fox. 2/3

And Bristol truly wanted to keep @notthefakeSVP and, despite other offers, he elected to stay home. Bristol is ok w/all of this. 3/3

Once again, ESPN talent is reminded that Bristol management considers no one absolutely irreplaceable...Except @sportsguy33.

There are a dozen women at ESPN right now that could do the job she does. Never thought much of Erin Andrews. I always thought Deadspin wildly overrated her.
