I was like 13 or so when Enron was actively engaging in fraud, in the early 2000's/1999, and I remember my family STRESSING on increased electricity bills, and the rolling "brown outs". The personal impact of those crimes was unimaginable, and I'm glad Lay died, and Skilling should have got life.

You know what crazy about Enron? One of their top Energy traders went on to start a hedge fund after Enron collapsed and became wildly successful. He made Enron 750 million in 2001 and got an $8 million bonus. 2002 he started his hedge fund. He became a billionaire in like 10 years and then retired in 2012. It's one of the most crazy come up stories. I always feel like he got out the game early because he didn't want nothing from his past to be exposed.

Just watched the 'Smartest Guys In The Room' documentary for free through my library app (Hooplah).

I was too young when it happened but it is fascinating seeing how deregulation screwed things up, how friendly Enron was to the Bush Administration, and how pervasive the attitude was throughout Lay's career
