This one of my favorite songs, shyt needs to be taught in English classes. Rhymes, metaphors, similes, alliteration and all them other literary devices we learned about in high school and college (for the liberal arts majors)

I hate this isn't on streaming, it was on DJ Spinna's Sonic Smash album from 2009

Dude is creative as hell and an ELITE SPITTER. It's just something about some of his projects that I could never 100% get into. elMatic is a classic to me tho

VERSE 2 :banderas:

You never know who it might be

To have you dropped on the black top
Leaking red through your white tee

Behind my backyard they pushin them packs hard/The crack just to get a black card

And really should invest in a vest/Lead-proof skin the thug got a slug in his chest at the Red Roof Inn

Down the hall from this dude getting head truth chin By this a high yellow red bone with the spread tooth grin/ Looking like Pink singer she can pose for Black Tail

A lost black girl in a world of black male(mail) and white collar crime done on the sneak tip/ Different from blue collar workers catching a pink slip

Not earning one red cent now what's a fella to do/To make green by mixing yellow and blue

Yeah the OG on The Preface was one of my favorite tracks off that album other than Transitional Joint.

Elzhi's delivery & songwriting leaves me cold at times but his lyricism is top tier.

This song was great. I remember a couple of songs on that DJ Spinna album getting played on Georgia State's radio station.

rep for the 88.5 shoutout. Senor Kaos is based in Atlanta so it makes sense they were playing his music

from 2006-08 (my last 2 yrs of high school) I got put onto so much heat from listening to WRAS 88.5 at night.

That station put me onto:
Pharrell - You Can Do It Too
Hollyweerd
Kidz in the Hall

it's also random joints like this that are pressed into my memory damn near 20 yrs later

Vast majority of the times I can overlook a song that has a very bad beat, but this instrumental is so terrible it turns me off and it doesn't even want me to bother to listen to it.

And that's no slight at Elzhi, he's a lyrical mastermind.
