Looking at the games time line and ''A Youth who Curses his Fate'' line, i'm pretty sure Eli is Liquid.

Ocelot is alright, problem is that when put up against Liquid Snake he just doesn't cut it. Liquid is constantly rated as the better villain and sometimes ranked as THE BEST MGS Villain (as IGN did before)

Kojima had to come up with some stupid shyt to basically merge both characters after a while

I think Solidus was a more interesting villain then Liquid

honestly yeah solidus is probably the best villian in the series...then liquid, and then revolver
