They never started working on "Bloodborne 2" because Sony, who owes the rights, never even requested it.

I'm not all that excited about this. Why did this game even need George RR Martins input?
It didn't "need" his input but dude is one of the most famous/celebrated writers of the last 10-15 years, why wouldn't they let him work on a story for them?

From's track record is damn near flawless. You're basically saying if the writing is good it won't matter if the game sucks which is true but....that only matters if the game sucks. Which is highly unlikely.

1. instead of hiring multiple shythead writers you can have one really good one doing the job of 3 and he has high marketability
2. coming from a different interpretation of writing, he might give them ideas that they never thought of or vice/versa
im not mad at the attempt, and using it as promotion makes sense, seems like a non-issue

Fromsoft’s story is every permutation of “Wise frum ur gwave”, and Elden Ring won’t be any different.
I bet there’s a huge majority of players who couldn’t tell you, who Lady Maria, The Monumental, or Mergo are in their respective story. Aesthetic, gameplay loop, and lore are what gets them playing.

Which is what From is building the plot around.
The entire foundation of the game is GRR Martin, not From. They hired him because their games don't normally have a traditional story.
