What do you think the avg level to get to him is?:patrice:

I couldn't even beat margitt until 30. I'm sure level plays a role, but I also worry that I should've just been a mage. I'd be give up all my endurance points for more focus:francis:

Any of yall got some tips for godrick? I cant get him past half health. Im level 42, playing a warrior build if that helps.

I did invest in some fire magic a while back, but i fear it will just make godrick go:mjlit:

I really do hate that demonic place. I only went there to farm the zombies for XP. Not even gonna bother with them giant monsters all over the place :francis:

You’re probably spam dodging too much honestly. Wait til the very last second to do your dodges when reacting to attacks. I swear this game makes bosses delay their attacks and wait for you to do that last extra panic roll before they smack you in the face every time.

At that level if your weapon is up to par you should feel like your hits are chipping away at his health at a solid rate and you just need to survive a few rounds of his attacks

It’s been a while but I think his fire breath attacks were tricky for me on my first playthrough, but I smoked his ass first try in new game plus. Not because of the damage but because i just got wayyyy better with movement at that point and dodging his attacks was fairly easy, he couldn’t even hit me. When he does the big fire moves just back the fukk up and reset. Don’t get greedy with your windows to attack be sure to get in and get out. Focus more on not getting hit than actually damaging him, but still look to take advantage when you have your openings

I think a lot of magic and incants aren’t that great for boss fights anyways because they take to long to do compared to just having good movement and attacks

Upgrade your weapon and learn his movements but your lvl is not the problem.

What's your play style? If you beat Margit, I'm trying to work out what your issue is

The recommended level for Godrick is 30-40, I managed to beat him at 32 on a strength bleed build. If you’re running a magic build invest in a tank spirit ash to take away aggro and like others said start timing your dodges.

If you don’t have it yet, go get the flask of wondrous physick

I wanna cry a little bit after reading this. Ironically, i did end up beating him by chance at lvl 49.:pachaha:

I lucked out and tried a co-op. I feel like the two dudes the system summoned were the seal-team-six of Limgrave. I barely got any hits in at all in the fight.:russ:

But while backing off, i could really see what you guys were saying about standing away from godrick when he does those wide open, AOE moves with fire and earthquakes. :ohhh:

Thanks for the hint on the flask. I Copped it. :salute:

Extremely high endurance , and up close fighting with an axe. Moderate weight. Dexterity is 18. Ironically, my strength stat is barely above 20 for a breh that uses an axe. I tend to make up for strenghth by using endurance to get many hits out at once. Though as i write this i suddenly realize that this could be an issue if you get a boss that only lets you get a few hits :pachaha:

I do occasionally use a dagger for more speed. I like that it can stun smaller foes and cause bleeding. The only magic i use is the healing and fireballs. But my focus mainly goes toward magic healing in fights.

I think i may be suffering from a lack of long range techniques. I have a bow, but its pretty much useless on anything bigger than the generic gaurds. i know bigger bows gotta exist somewhere in the game, but i have no luck in finding them yet. When the co-op team was summoned to fight godrick i was amazed at how they had these huge displays of magic blasts , both fire based and energy based, that could hit big dudes from afar.

Not sure pumping up your endurance early on was a good idea. You gotta do some damage.

Godrick should be beaten close up. You gotta pay attention to his patterns. Most times diving toward him is better than away or to the sides. Also go get a shield till you really get good at timing the dodges.

Also one more note,

margitt felt easier to me because he didnt destroy the entire area around him in the same way godrick does.
You should be able to roll through that area fire attack from godrick. Also he telegraphs before he does it. You usualy have time to get far enough away from him to not get hit.

Also use your summon to take some of the heat off yourself and get in some hits.

Also this is a terrible strategy at any point in the game.

Your goal should be patience. Get a couple hits and get outa there. Don’t get greedy. You are better off retreating early and regrouping than you are trying to get in an extra hit.

Lastly you will find that some of the boss moves you are better at avoiding and they may leave an easier opening for attacks. There’s no shame in just avoiding them till they throw out the move sequence you are good at punishing
