Watching some lore videos.. the fact that Marika's motivations are still not completely known is unreal. Gotta be some dlc coming.
specifically, the whole (endgame lore spoiler)stuff people seem to be getting tripped up on is right out of Moon Knight (or Egyptian text). The same way that Moon Knight can (Moon Knight spoilers)marika is radagoninhibit two or more beings and be guided by Khonshu is the same way Marika and Radagon are guided by The Greater Will.
Having GRRM on this you can tell they plan on expanding on this story for years to come.
How are Marikas motivations unknown? She was a loyal servant to the greater will and loved her children. Once her firstborn(Goldwyn) got murdered by Ranni and the greater will couldn't help. She lost her faith in it and rebelled by shattering the elden ring.Watching some lore videos.. the fact that Marika's motivations are still not completely known is unreal. Gotta be some dlc coming.

godwyn died after the ring was shattered though. ranni didn't have access to that rune until it was separate from the ring. i do agree that in general she loved her children and seeing them suffer led to her doubting the greater will. but some of her actions don't line up with it being a simple act of rebellionHow are Marikas motivations unknown? Nah Marika took that rune out of the ring so that there would be no destined death and Demi gods would live forever. Marika gave the rune to her wolf companion Maliketh and Ranni's goons stole part of it from him, which allowed her to kill Godwyn.godwyn died after the ring was shattered though. ranni didn't have access to that rune until it was separate from the ring. i do agree that in general she loved her children and seeing them suffer led to her doubting the greater will. but some of her actions don't line up with it being a simple act of rebellion
