Essentially 100% the game
Great game but I feel like it's a step down from DS3 & Sekiro
Open world got tiresome after a while (this is a symptom of every open world game, they almost always drag on too long) so I was basically beelining to POI at the end without really exploring.
Bosses were 100% quantity over quality.
You fight about 10 buggy dragons that like to fly out of bounds and despawn
More than 10 obvious Asylum Demon reskins in those awful Erdtree Avatar fights
About 10 maybe more of those giant tree worms that clip through the camera constantly so you can't see shyt
Probably 10 Crucible Knights
Etc.
Copy and paste everywhere. The catacombs became mind numbingly boring after a while. I feared they would be like chalice dungeons (which I hate) before launch and while they weren't as bad they weren't good either

There are some good bosses in here but in late game every fight boils down to you having to constantly dodge or evade to get one single strike in. fukk your own combos. You basically have to watch the boss do 8 hit combos and pray you don't get hit a single time cause they all hit like trucks.
They are absolutely balanced around the summon mechanic too. That's why every damn boss needs AoE attacks now cause they need to account for more than one character attacking

Also it's been more than 10 years and the camera is still complete dogshyt. And this game has more large bosses fukking with the camera then ever.

I agree with this. It suffers a lot of the same open world problems they all do.

I said it before but once you finish the royal city you’ve basically since 99% of enemies. Still pound for pound the most variety of enemies you’re gonna get but it eventually hits a point of diminishing returns like most open world games, only much later.

People run in to this problem cause they want to go out of their way to see EVERYTHING in one play through.

If you just played the game and made through without lots of googling and searching for stuff you won’t run into nearly as much repeated content.

Thers LOTS of unique content, much more than any souls game before. There’s just lots of extra dungeons to flesh out the open world and hide more items.

Imo this is a better situation than prior souls games cause in those you literally had to grind the same exact content for levels. In Elden ring at least there are extra dungeons to explore and bosses to fight even if they are similar to prior content.

Facts, people complain about the world being too big but going out of their way to search every nook and cranny. You only need to beat 13 bosses to beat the game, the entire southern and eastern sections of the map are completely optional. If people feel like the game started to drag, it's their own fault.
