Yeah this is still my issue (I'm only like 5 hours in).

I can deal with most of these guys 1v1, but I can't manage crowds at all you lock onto one person and just get stabbed in the back, and if you don't lock on then good luck landing attacks

with time you'll get the hang of dealing with it.

different enemies try to swarm in different ways. for example, with those little goblin mobs with wooden shields in east limgrave, one will actively try to circle around you and smack you while the others occupy you head on. but if you run parallel with the runner, he'll end up running away from their group, right to you, and you can fukk him up quickly, before the others arrive.

humans tend to rush straight in, so AOE weapons or attacks with wide range tend to help with crowd control.

another tactic: if you have a bow, use it to snipe dudes from distance. even if it doesn't kill them, the person you hit will come to you to fight. usually without alerting everyone else. this is always a go-to when dealing with giants, stormhawks or those burger king magicians. my weapons are currently strong as fukk, but i dont have spells that give them AOE effects yet, so i tend to potshot and 1:1 whenever possible.

if you dont have a bow, you can also learn enemy patrol routes, and creep into a solo enemy's sight-lines in ways that make them walk over to check you out. as long as they dont have a horn (and no one else sees you) they'll eventually just come over to try and kill you.

summoning bell + summoning ashes are crucial too, especially early on.

wolf pack at level +3 is tough enough to keep most non-boss enemies in limgrave and liurnia occupied long enough for me to take out at least half their health bar.

i've got the headless spirit at +7 now. enemies can't lock onto her, so you have to be more cautious (can't assume they wont attack until you hit them). but she's a fukking tannnnnnnnnnnnk.

If it wasn't for the fact that I have a digital PS5 I would have traded this in. The game isn't hard. It's unforgiving. So I will rune farm, level up, and rage beat this bytch

Nothing comes close to the Mimic tear when it comes to tanking dmg especially against dragons

i havent found that one yet. i just beat the academy and am working my way through the rest of the dungeons/npcs/open world bosses in liurnia. i have both sides of the medallion for the lift though, and i already found the secret entrance to altus that involved killing magma wyrm.

i saw that big ass white dragon once i got up there tho, and went back to liurnia with the quickness.

how far away am i from the quest for mimic tear?

You just need to follow the Rani questline and beat radahn ()

if i could be certain your ps5 was problem free i'd trade you in a heartbeat

I never plan on using my disk drive but my ps5 has been problem free and coil whine free so im not risking it

Any good farm spots at level 55? Saw some on YouTube but have to do a bunch of shyt with fingers and have to go to an end game spot. Trying to avoid that if possible

EDIT: this might be the end game spot you're talking about. another great early game spot is in northeastern caelid, between the dragon on the bridge and the big ass bird with the spear. there are these little pharaohs that roam around over there, and if you sneak up on them you can kill them for about 1100 runes each. they're fast as fukk if they spot you tho. there's a portal near a church in east liurnia that can take you to this area, right behind the bird. then you can sneak past him and follow the path down to a bridge, which has a site of grace. you can use that to start farming.

EASILY the best farm spot i've found so far is at this dead zone right next to the siofra river sublevels. but you can only get there if you start white faced varre's quest in liurnia.

find rose church in the main lake area of liurnia. it's southwest of the academy. talk to varre until he gives you an item (he'll give you up to three, depending on if you already have the item or not), then use that item three times. doesn't matter what happens when you use it (i got SMOKED all three times lol), just use them and then go back and visit varre again. he'll eventually give you a new item and tell you not to use it.

you're gonna end up in a region you can't hope to complete yet, but that's fine. get on your horse and run in the direction opposite the building structure you spawned in, until you get to a mountain wall. then turn right and run alongside the wall until you reach a path leading up the mountain. take the path past all the bad guys and you'll eventually get to a site of grace. activate it, rest, then leave it. when the level resets, move to the cliffside to your left (if you're facing the path you just came up from) and look across the chasm.

there's a bird with its brains hanging out over there. take out your longbow, go into first person and hit him with an arrow. other users will have marked the best places to stand while shooting. when you hit him, he'll get pissed and run into the chasm trying to chase you down... and you'll get 10,000-13,000 runes, depending on the charms you have equipped.

go to the site of grace, reset, and do it all over again. you can net 500k runes in 10-15 minutes using this setup.

I can't do it. I can't beat the Fire Giant. The first stage is easy it's his second stage that's a pain in the ass. I'm going crazy. His health bar is ridiculous.
