As an east coast independent rap collector, I’ve Ben wondering if this is the most selling east-coast vinyl single ever? This is more known than DITC “day one” track that sold 20K. So this single should have have at least double that.
Saw "Broken Language" by Smoothe da Hustla mentioned in the comments and honestly that might be up there as well.
Btw the guy that did madman wound up getting shot with brain damage smh.

Payday lived around the corner from my parents restaurant. There was a guy who used to come into the restaurant and he knew I did beats and he hooked me up with Payday. “Madman’s Dream” was the first song that we did together.
Why did you decide to release it independently instead of shopping to labels?
Not too long after that, Travis [Payday] got shot, and he had some brain damage

Here is an interesting tidbit, if you listen to Shades Of Brooklyn classic track “Changes”, in the last verse, the rapper says “… Payday is a madman dream”, since Payday and Shades are from Brooklyn, did they know each other or Payday is a mad man’s dream just an English expression?
