Early 90s Boom Bap Type Beat 2 in FL Studio 1 (fruityloops 1.2.10)

Just keeping it simple, but still trying to be creative with limitations. Only effects are really:

- A built echo/delay
- A built sine fx
- A built overdrive fx
- Fade L to R
- Reverse Stereo (Fade R to L)
- Reverse
- Auto stretch
- Cut/Cut By

No VST support

The beat starts at 0:37

Beat's kinda nice, but the hi-hats are either too loud or just the wrong hi-hats, they (and their frequency) feel so isolated vs the rest of the beat and would be quite annoying with most voices. You could just turn them down, take a bit off the high frequencies off (also take off some of the mid freqs to get rid of the mid that takes unnecessary frequency space) or just replace it with a less noticeable snare.

Other than that - yeah breh

Edit: also it could use some change, nothing major - it could be a sample from an old rap song where a rapper says something dope, but right now it would rely HEAVILY on the artist, there's no real theme to this yet (it's not necessary of course, it can all be added) but it misses a little bit of personality, something that makes it truly unique and stand on its own even if it sounds like the 90's

I don't think he knows how limited this version of fruityloops really is. People ask me to EQ this & compress that (even though I show them the limitations).

I use to limit myself to using 10 second sample time on FL, but it was like version 8 so I could do all sorts of shyt.
