BBC News - 'Earliest' evidence of modern human culture found

"The earliest unambiguous evidence for modern human behaviour has been discovered by an international team of researchers in a South African cave.

The finds provide early evidence for the origin of modern human behaviour 44,000 years ago, over 20,000 years before other findings.

The artefacts are near identical to modern-day tools of the indigenous African San bush people."

That's a little depressing, no?

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

It is broke though :sadcam:

50% of children die before the age of 15. 20% die within their first year (mostly of gastrointestinal infections).

Average life expectancy is about 45-50 years

Only 10% become older than 60 years.

Yeah for that group but the bigger picture is we have been doing things that have been going on now longer than expected which means there could have been other things going on that we thought were not possible that were being done we just haven't found hard evidence for it yet which is why you shouldn't spout information that you read as 100% factual and how life is or was without taking this into account.

Also, you have to remember there is always a group who will stay behind and keep doing what the people before them have been doing while some of them move on and create an enhanced foundation of the old one they come from. You see it everyday in all walks of life and countries. Some move on to create a better foundation some move on and create a worse foundation(in the bigger picture) but they move on and try something different to be better. The thing you have to ask yourself is which one are you?.

People forget when people in the past moved on they went on for YEARS, made a change and most likely rarely came back because they had to keep their new family and friends secured so all the new knowledge they gain from experience in new environments doesn't really get passed down which is why certain groups performed better at different things then others. I'm not talking about intentionally preventing others from growing as in the case of slavery and Jim Crow we had in the Americas. Today we can just call and tell someone what we learned or do it over the internet in the SAME DAY which speeds up the growing process which is why if someone doesn't grow now(learning and doing what was learned) they are the lowest form of people ever to me.

I understand the bigger picture. I was pointing out that the smaller picture is depressing. I don't understand how you misunderstood that.

Because if you understood that it would be no need to state it. I knew this off top but because I see it everyday, there is no need to shout the obvious. I can say a lot of things are depressing as it relates to this, in our current world but It deters from what needs to be learned. Do your thing though. No hate towards you for it.
