EA Sports UFC Video Game Roster Will Feature Females, Including Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate

Electronic Arts Inc. on Wednesday announced that EA Sports UFC will feature playable female characters for the first time ever in a UFC video game.

UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and her next challenger, Miesha Tate, head the roster of women that will appear in EA Sports UFC, but they are far from the only female fighters in the game.

EA Sports refrained from naming any of the other women that will be on the game’s roster, but did indicate that EA Sports UFC would feature a full roster of female fighters.

“This is a great moment for videogames and for Mixed Martial Arts,” said Dean Richards, General Manager, EA SPORTS UFC. “In our commitment to delivering the most realistic fighting experience ever achieved, we wanted to represent the full spectrum of talent and diversity of all the fighters in the sport, including women who have become an undeniable force to be reckoned with.”

EA Sports UFC won’t launch until the spring of 2014, so that gives EA and the UFC a little bit of time to determine which women, and men for that matter, will make the cut for the game.

Although UFC president Dana White at one time declared that women would never fight in the UFC, Rousey, who coaches opposite Tate on The Ultimate Fighter 18, quickly left him singing a different tune.
Though the UFC has only committed to one weight class – the 135-pound bantamweight division – thus far for women, the response to date has been overwhelmingly positive.

“Since we added the women’s bantamweight division earlier this year, the women have impressed everyone,” said White. “The fights are always exciting, Ronda Rousey is as talented as any champion in the UFC, and her rivalry with Miesha Tate is one of the most intense in UFC history. The female division has become a huge part of the UFC and fans will now be able to experience fighting with them in the game.”

I'm tired of them overhyping ronda rousey. Every time you turn your head it's rousey this rousey that. She's a good female fighter, no disrespect to her. But that makes her a very limited fighter when compared to any top guy in any division. Now they're on ultimate fighter hamming it up too.

Chris Brown as downloadable fighter :banderas:
Is chris brown the first/last/only nikka you heard of who had a domestic dispute :heh:

Paul Mooney convinced me Rihanna is way more guilty than is being let on.
The fact he waxed that off again since should tell you the same :stopitslime:

As for this thread, I'm sure nobody gives two shyts about this feature and would only use them for the achievement that is sure to follow. Most will try her out a few times before never using the females again.

What is there, like 8 female fighters in all of the UFC? I really wish they had kept them out. Call me sexist but if I'm paying to watch a PPV, I won't be happy that a female fight is on the card.
