It's a nice track.

Constructive Criticism
  • Drums sound a bit off (sync wise) on the first bar
  • Limited variation in composition
Dopeness
  • ill sample
  • your pre-mix is good
  • your drums aren't over powering the melody
  • nice feel/aura to the beat

good work breh! :salute:

Not really my type of style to be honest with you. (Real Hip-Hop nontheless though)

I think the beat still sounds a bit empty.
Maybe add like some more Hi-Hat hits in the drumpattern.

Fosho, I got some ideas for how to flesh it out some more so it's good to hear that it could use it. It's actually not a sample, I'm thinking a distorted vocal sample might add something to it though.

i like it actually. it does a sound a bit "empty" but i can hear vox changing that easily. if it still needs something, maybe some real background hi-hats (just barely audible enough that it adds a rhythm) or way low fx/atmosphetic perc sounds here and there to add some texture/variety could remedy that. and yeah, it is repetitive, but again, with vocals over it...things change.

fyi, i'm pretty drunk and i'm listening on some old sennheiser headphones. in terms of the mix so far, it sounds pretty good man. to me, the glaring thing is the low end. when the bassline comes in, it's really fukking dominant, like takeover shyt...and it's fighting with the kick a bit. i think the sound choices are solid...i'm not mad at a strong ass bass...but to me, there's definitely a volume/level issue there. frequency-wise, i'm sure you could free up more space for each with some small eq moves to both parts as well. in fact, that might be the key to having that huge bass work with your kick drum/low end.
