:mjcry: dude had the chance to be goat if he choose art over $

The theme song to (The Sopranos)
plays in the key of life on my, mental piano
Got a strange way of seein life like
I'm Stevie Wonder with, beads under the doo-rag
Intuition is there even when my vision's impaired, yeah
Knowin I can go, just switchin a spare
On the highway of life, nikka it's sharp in my sight
Oh! Keen senses ever since I was a, teen on the benches
everytime somebody like Enus was mentioned
I would turn green, me, bein in the trenches
Him, livin adventureous not worryin about expenditures
I'm bravin temperatures below zero, no hero
No father figure, you gotta pardon a nikka
But I'm starvin my nikkaz, and the weight loss in my figure
is startin to darken my heart, bout to get to my liver
Watch it my nikkaz, I'm tryin to be calm but I'm gon' get richer
through any means, with that thing that Malcolm palmed in the picture
Never read the Qu'ran or Islamic scriptures
Only psalms I read was on the arms of my nikkaz
Tattooed so I carry on like I'm non-religious
Clap whoever stand between Shawn and figures
nikkaz, say it's the dawn/Don but I'm superstitious
shyt is as dark as it's been, nothin is goin as you predicted
I move with biscuits, stop the harder nikkaz actin too suspicious
This is, food for thought, you do the dishes

Uh, you know I still run with that, that blood of a slave
Boiling in my veins
It's just hot until a nikka can't take it no more
Blood of a slave, Heart of a King
Turn my voice up

Ayo, the brother is "Stillmatic"
I crawled up out of that grave, wiping the dirt, cleaning my shirt
They thought I'll make another "Illmatic"
But it's always forward I'm moving
Never backwards stupid here's another classic
C-Notes is falling from the sky
By now the credits roll starring Nas executive poet, produced, directed by
The Kid slash Escobar
Narration describes the lives and laws tribes in the ghetto trying to survive
The feature opens with this young black child
Finger scratch, cigarette burns on the sofa, turning the TV down
Mary Jane girls, 45's playing, soft in the background
Poof from C-Town's mornings was hash browns
Stepped over dope fiends, walking out the door, all of us paw
I learned the difference between the snitches, the real ones, and who's soft
And the murderous, hungriest crews
People jumping from roofs, shotguns pumping made it through my youth
Walking very thin lines, ages seven and nine
That's the age I was on my album cover, this is the rebirth
I know the streets thirst water like Moses
Walking through the hot desert searching to be free
This is my end and my new beginning Nostalgia
Alpha and Omega places, it's like a glitch in the matrix
I seen it at all, did it all, most of y'all been pop for a minute
Spitters, sinners and the game get rid of y'all
Y'all got there but y'all didn't get it all, I want my style back
Hate to cease y'all plan it's the rap repo-man
To them double up hustlers, bidders, nikkas who real
Professionals, stick up child's dreaming for meals
Let my words guide you, get inside you
From Crips to Pirus this is survival

Blood of a Slave, Heart of a King
Blood of a Slave, Heart of a King
Uh, uh Blood of a Slave, Heart of a King
Uh, yea
Huh, Braveheart

"Never read the Qu'ran or Islamic scriptures/Only psalms I read was on the arms of my nikkaz". Might be the best thing Jay ever said tbh.

Yeah the Internet is a blessing and a curse, rap music is so easily and readily available that's it's just fragmented as a whole, too many dudes getting put on before they've even perfected their craft man. Hip-Hop is doing fine but I don't think we'll ever get guys like Jay-Z, Outkast etc. who just murder shyt on a technical level and make fukking hits, heck even shyt like Lose Yourself by Eminem with the rhyme schemes and shyt that ain't ever gonna happen.

yup, i agree....nobody cares about skill anymore, rappers in the 90s really about the science...

The 6
Both are 10/10, fantastic, all-time great

I voted Stillmatic with the tie-breaker being that the Dynasty Intro takes a while before Jay starts his verse

Always thought Nas should have made an album with the title Blood Of A Slave. Would have been a good title for what ended up being the Untitled album.
