Lil Wayne Producers Drew And Infamous Sue Young Money - Music, Celebrity, Artist News | MTV.com

Lil Wayne's Tha Carter III, while continually celebrated for its success, continues to be marred in controversy. In a story that sounds all too familiar, album producers Drew and Infamous are reportedly suing Young Money for unpaid royalties.

The two beat makers often work in tandem, and as a team produced tracks like Wayne's 2008 song "Mr. Carter," featuring Jay-Z and his rocked-out "Prom Queen" single, but TMZ broke the news on Saturday that Andrew "Drew" Correa and Marcos "Infamous" Rodriguez filed two separate lawsuits against Weezy's Young Money Entertainment.

Correa claims that he signed with Young Money in 2008 to produce music for the label and its artists. He has since contributed to Tunechi's Carter III, Rebirth and I Am Not a Human Being LPs as well as Birdman's 2009 offering, Priceless. The producer says that while he was paid some of the royalties owed to him that his expected payments stopped coming.

Rodriguez, who says he signed on with YM in 2007, makes a similar allegation, claiming that he too stopped receiving royalty payments from the powerhouse label. Infamous has gone one to produce on Tha Carter III and its follow-up Tha Carter IV as well as on Weezy's rock album Rebirth, Birdman's Priceless and the label's compilation LP We Are Young Money.

A number of other Carter III producers have filed lawsuits against Wayne's camp since the album's release in 2008. Darius "Deezle" Harrison, Bangladesh, Play-N-Skillz and Jim Jonsin have all at one time took action against the label, though a number of them have settled their differences with YME.

It's funny and sad, these people shouldn't be jerked out of money due to them, they are inexperienced, naive, idealistic whatever. On the other hand, you have to be smarter, and sharper in that industry, a lot of industries. A feature, big name collab on a huge Wayne album is a great look, is it worth not getting paid? If it's not, you have to pass.
