I don't know what it is about tough baseball losses that seem to sting more than watching any other sport, to me at least, but seeing the Nationals a strike away from winning the series several times reminds me of past heartbreaks I've witnessed from the game.
Maybe it has to do with how long and drawn out a season is only to see it end on a pitch or a base hit of some kind.

BTW...... fukk the 2001 Arizona Diamondbacks

I said in another thread that the not having a clock adds to the cruelty of baseball losses.

No running out the clock or running the strategy against the clock or having the other team mount a comeback only to run outta time.....YOU gotta get it done, you gotta get those outs. If you don't, you don't. :to:

And yeah, I think all regular season games adds to it b/c the attachment.

But if OU doesnt beat TExas tom. I will be extra :to: for a long time.

its just not the same as other sports. you could just feel the ether building, as dude walked a guy on like 8 pitches, then walked another on like 8 pitches, then the game is tied "we can still get out of it and hit again" then the runner steals second without a throw, then they take the lead, then you have to sit there hoping your team does something miraculous but you know they aint doing a damn thing, then you are going home thru mad traffic and a shytload of salty ass fans. instead of losing on a last minute td drive which takes like 3 real time minutes, or a last second 3 pointer which is seconds, your loss is built up for like a fukking hour while you blow the lead, then you know you aint doing shyt in the bottom of that inning. just an hour of bitter beer face as a fan before the loss is even official

I can't imagine being a devoted Nats fan right now (i.e. Mastermind).
