Can people who enjoy this album tell me why it’s good other than saying the basic hoes will like it?

It has it's moments. But I am right in that demo of 36-43 year olds who came up to Drake and the Weeknd, and this kind of low tempo R&B, sexual rap, mood music was a soundtrack. Now, it feels kind of like old guy in the club music, even if I like it.

The thing is I don't think the "basic hoes" will listen to it for more than a minute or two. No one does. These songs will be on playlists and shoot out on Tik Toks and Instagrams for 72 hours and that will be it. But, that's what almost ALL music is reduced to now.

It's the new structure. Compared to If You're Reading This It's Too Late, which was much better from a songwriting perspective, creativity, diversity, and we were all younger. It was new, it was a soundtrack. A lot of those songs were in rotation for most of 2015. These won't be, but the world doesn't work like it did in 2015, so even if it was a better album, it would have no staying power.

The best way to enjoy this album would be with someone of the opposite sex who loves the music or relates the way you do. Like late night with candles and this on in the background. The takeaway is that people don't LISTEN to music anymore, they just react to it. Remember White Men Can't Jump, yeah you listen to Jimmy, but you don't HEAR Jimmy? LOL

I can't lie I thought this instantly when I heard that part.

Did it better on Oh U Went.
Small Town Fame first part is a little What Would Pluto Do too

Get this revisionist bullshyt outta here 😂

Drake was the only one that acted like a whole hoe after the Control verse, and he even dissed Kendrick on that SportsNation episode. His hoe ass even threatened ESPN to delete it cause he was a scary ass nikka

You stans act like a dikkmatized bytch
There were several responses from other rappers to Control and Kenny ignored all of them, and basically confirmed he was dissing in his BET cypher.

I agree on that part that his emotions have affected his music ever since him and Kendrick have beefed. I think he really should have waited a little longer to get himself together and be inspired. But prior to that I think he has just been a little uninspired. But I get that can happen to someone who been around as long as him. I think he has a hard time coming up with new original material BY HIMSELF. But I don’t think being explicit don’t have anything to do with that. We all listen to future ignorant ass and shyt lol. The problem legit is the music period. As a non drake fan I don’t care about him being explicit or not. Just ain’t cared for the songs. Some just sound outdated. Even future make the same type of music, but songs like “we still don’t trust you” and rapping on beats like
“Like dat” switches it up a little . That’s why I don’t care for padre, but to me it’s a better version of drake than them other songs. I think the explicit thing is more of a cop out to be honest

For sure. Even a song like Gimme A Hug, which I like, doesn't sample or use an interpolation, it full on just throws I Miss You in there at the end. For him to rap and talk over. Feels lazy, and uninspired. That would have been like a sick sample in the Take Care era, that you had to really catch and listen for, with PND or Weekdn singing or maybe Drake, but this was just like throwing a look to older R&B fans. No one under 30 has any idea about that song. I knew who Guy was in middle school, but barely. I Miss You is from like 1994.

People definitely listen to music man. The internet isn’t real.

This is a good project and there’s nothing out that sounds like it. From the Melodie’s, to the production to the lyrics

What other artist can make Nokia for example?
