He's not doing this shyt with any integrity, mind you. He's not trying to save the industry. But the fact that Drake believes he has the nuclear codes to the music industry concerns me greatly.

Moving like if he can't maintain his paid-for music placement, he'll call the police on the party. :scusthov:

Here is another angle. Might just be Drake getting the grounds ready for a defamation lawsuit against UMG so Kendrick cant perform the song during the superbowl. Normally I can't imagine the NFL would let a rapper do a diss song as part of the show but Im sure Jay got them to give the greenlight plus its his biggest hit in years and the reason he got the performance anyway.

So would yall rather be called corny and lame by internet nerds for filing a lawsuit (When folks already think you're corny) or allow someone to call you a pedo during the superbowl. Pretty sure whatever blow back he gets now would be 10x worse if kendrick performs it on the worlds biggest stage.
The damage has already been done by that song.

The world has already heard it, a thousand times over.

Kendrick's mere presence in the spotlight is a daily reminder of this to him and the public.

Making a chess move to have this song barred from the SB would be counterproductive because it would tarnish his name in the rap game even more (well, whatever false integrity he has left that his diminishing fanbase and fellow rappers are holding onto for dear life).

I disagree. In the real world nobody really cares about this "beef" or the lawsuit. He is still the top streamed rapper. I heard drake a million times at club this past weekend and folks danced and vibe'd like normal. Only people obsessed or boycotting drake are the stans online. Folks and blogs will be back to talking about diddy or something else next week and forget this lawsuit is even happening. Sometimes yall dont realize the internet is an echo chamber. An artist can have millions of followers and engagement but only sell 5k copies of their album. Kamala was killing with the engagement online also. It doesnt translate to the real world. The Superbowl is the real world though and a more diverse crowd. So that L would be much bigger, etched in history, and bring the song back to the front after it has already faded away.

I’ve said this before - Meek might be missing a few braincells, and he lost the battle but ultimately - I think he won the war - he induced the first chink in the armor with the ghostwriter/Quentin Miller/ref tracks exposal

Like, prior to that I think Drake was fully Teflon in public perception. Sure, purists never really took to his brand of pop hip-hop - but it was a dislike largely rooted in the music he made and what he represented.

After that Meek beef, his fame and success seemingly carried on unscathed but to many people - Kendrick included - there was now an asterisk next to his name.

Fast forward and look where we at. In summary, Meek is the retarded lil nikka you send on a kamikaze mission to blow the gate open so you can get a chance to scope through the opening once the smoke clears. He’s not the hero people wanted, but he’s the one they deserved

:mjlol:
This made me laugh out loud
