This site is truly disconnected from the majority of America. Just like a lot of y’all predicting Kamala was gonna win majorly.

A 720 deal based on numbers, quotas and goals reachable for the biggest rapper in music, not a toxic celeb with a dying brand. That deal is a coffin right now.
This is so false :mjlol: :mjlol: Y’all just make up anything and run with it

this is a problematic tweet and one day we’re gonna address how fukked up this mindset is...

This is one of the worst tweets of all time :picard:

It’s being willfully obtuse (or just being flat out stupid) about the difference between suing for deceptive business practices aimed to deflate one’s value, vs suing someone for making a song (which this is not).

Goof balls in here defending Universal like they weren’t just accusing them of trying to help Drake months ago :picard:

The bots and stream farming was well documented this past weekend :scust:

Ak was damn smiling like a proud dad watching his only son that made it when he was telling ducktales about all the rappers being mad at Drake because Universal somehow allowed him an ownership stake in all of their publishing deals…

Now the truth is Drake ain’t never been nothing but another worker bee and now he’s mad his time as top dog was cut short because he couldn’t out-rap or out-strategize his opponent.

Dude BEGGED Kendrick to drop for two weeks and in that time had ZERO contingency plan for if the pulitzer prize winning lyricist just so happened to flame him? Pathetic.
Drake.. here's how they gon' come at you
With silly rap feuds, tryin to distract you..
In disguise, in the form of a favor
The Barzini meeting, watch for the traitors, uhh
I done seen it all, done it all..
That's why nunna these dum-dums could done him off

Let me get 'em, B, yeah
100 million crib, 3 million watch - all facts, no cap
False nikka, you NOT a boss, you GOT a boss
nikkas gettin jerked, that shyt hurts,
I take it personally..
nikkas rather work for the Man,
than to work with me
Just so they can PRETEND they on my level,
that shyt is irkin to me..

Pride always goeth before the fall,
almost certainly!

I'm looking at the angles that people are using to defend this petition and they are heavy reaches.

1. No one is truly asking themselves why would UMG allegedly undermine their cash cow? Contrary to people on Twitter, he isn't done with his deal, so it doesn't work as a negotiating tactic for UMG. This is the guy the same people have claimed has been keeping the industry above water for a decade.

2. Admitting UMG helped his career with streams may help his legal case but it shatters his legacy and future earning potential. He don't all of sudden care about the state of the industry and artist treatment - so all them accolades and records don't mean anything.

3. Nobody is bigger than the program - from this day forward, the music industry will do everything it can to throw water on any spark he may have simply because he could cost them business in exposing the practices they use for ALL artist.

4. What's going to be left of his fanbase outside of the gaggle of coli and twitter stans when this is all said and done? This isn't how rap/hip-hop is supposed to move and it fa sh*t sho ain't how the culture moves.

This not how you get out of your deal champ with all them people in your pockets.

This will be interesting because Drake isn’t just a cash cow for the record industry. He’s a cash cow for Live Nation and arenas in the US and Europe. Only 4-5 other artists can consistently sell out huge venues like Drake. Maybe he was touring so much recently to show his value to them. They’ll probably help keep Drake relevant.

All jokes aside it’s gonna be really difficult almost impossible to win this lawsuit unless he got some real ass evidence. But at the same time there is no fukking way universal and Spotify gonna let him get off Scott free. I didn’t even realize he was suing Spotify
