Won't matter to Kendrick stans and Drake haters :yeshrug:

Delusional Drake stans will think this means Drake won :mjlol:

For the rest of us non-stans, it changes the narrative a bit. Yeah NLU is certified and Drake lost, however it provides an avenue for him to come back on some "yeah took the labels and industry to knock me down and we still here" survivor story. It's a narrow path but he can stick the landing and recover. Plus, the ability to end his deal and get some money.

But he has to win. Anything short of victory and he's purely irrefutably bytch made and should go into software marketing
The thing is... NOBODY has benefited more than Drake from these same label practices.

Is he somehow insinuating that these practices are never done for him?

Do any of y'all remember when "for all the dogs" dropped and that shyt was on COUNTRY playlist on Spotify ?? :jbhmm:

This makes him look absolutely terrible

You would imagine Drake and his team would be shrewd enough to understand that you're risking MORE HARM to your public perception by engaging this lawsuit, versus whatever you may gain IF you won this lawsuit - which likely wont change public perception anyways, as you said, because the damage is already done.

And Drake practices some of this same shyt. All of the major label artists do this shyt. So its wildly hypocritical.

The public is bigger than the loud voices on either extreme. If there's a clear path to victory, even with the clowning it's worth it to push through and then get in his "against all odds" bag

There's a part of the public to which any action of his will be clowned. They don't matter in this calculation of his

Can you imagine if:
Jay sued Nas for Ether?
Ja sued 50 for Back Down?
Flip sued T.I. for 99 Problems Freestyle?
MC Eiht sued DJ Quik for Dollaz and Sense?

This is an everlasting L. Nobody is going to take the white boy serious now. And his fans need the shyt slapped outta them on GP for the rest of their lives for defending (aka dikkriding) such atrocity.

He’s not suing for the songs.

Of course he's benefited from these practices. But that doesn't matter in the story of this beef. "The label turned the guns against the golden boy".

Maybe if it comes out that they boosted Back to Back, does it absolutely look terrible.
