The fukked up part is I believe this is totally plausible, I dont put this past UMG at all. Its just not he Hip Hop thing to do... why even engage in a rap battle at all... Just to take it court? Not destroy him just diminish his brand so he can be lowballed in negotiations. It's like your workplace helping to spread unsubstantiated gossip and using that as a reason why you don't get a raise. the only reason i can see UMG doing this is if drake was planning to leave UMG after his contract was over.

however, drake was calling for kendrick to drop and had to have known the powers that be wanted to take him down... so why even bother getting into a big rap beef while negotiating when you know they can manipulate data. payola and botting has been around for a long time and Cole even mentioned artists faking their streams in 'a lot'. this just seems like a deflection from the battle and disses that came from it.
