After hearing about our 15-year-old little brother in Dallas, shot and killed by police the other day, I had to give more thought to putting the school in Afrika. I met with a developer here in the mountain kingdom the other day, who pledged to send me some building designs and prices for me to review in the next few days. Lesotho is a small beautiful country, and a school here would work just fine. I must say though, there are forces in Afrika just as opposed to the true spirit of Pan-Afrikan Nationalism, as are in the states. Regardless of where I put the school, whether it be in the states or Afrika, I will have to fight back against an army of naysayers, sabotage experts, haters & character assassins.
Our people are so complacent with the low level of power that we exercise over our destiny that it sickens me. We never question what others do to us, but we become expert evaluators whenever one of our own decides to take a stand and defend it with honor. Do not take these words as indicative of my losing any hope; to the contrary I am more motivated than ever to see this school through; with several more to follow. I also would have wished for a quicker school placement. However, the hopes of so many require that I be as careful and patient with the people's money as possible.
I have set a start date of 8.21.18 for the academy's first day of school. Hopefully, we can locate an affordable property by this Nat Turner day in hopes of beginning school on the next one.
