I kind of see his point about how that money won't be worth a lot, in california at least, since it will cause higher inflation (I personally believe that higher inflation caused by reparations will be temporary thus not really a dealbreaker) but some of his alternatives to cash reparations had me like.



First thing he started talking about was controlling our own music. Like come on fam.

Having a bunch of money to buy goods and services largely produced outside of the Black community does nothing to fix the condition we're in.

There's nothing inherently wrong with putting $350k into your account. The issue is that reparations are meant to address the damage done to us as a people, our collective problem isn't as simple as us not having enough money, to be honest I wish it were because cash payments would be an easy and perfect fix.

There needs to be systems, programs & cash because I doubt they’ll give us the trillions we deserve. Millions is fine as long as we have systems/programs to set up the future generations of Black Americans & for the not so smart people who will blow right through their cash. The programs should be permanent & give us a head start above everyone else.

Well yeah. We would need the equivalent of all the programs we were left out of like the new deal or GI bill.

That money could buy property/land. That money can be used as an investment. That money could be used to buy political access that can later be used for blackmail. That money can be used to start a business. That money could be used to finally retire.

Regardless of what it is used for, it should be up to the recipient to decide.

"so much of what needs to be fixed in the AA community is going to take more than cash" - very true, but monetary restitution should absolutely part of a reparations package.

"control of black music should stay in black community" - i agree , but not exactly for the same reasons he mentioned. would be helpful for us to control the diversity of music being promoted to our community.
