I've always had issue with this line of thinking and now its increasingly prevalent almost to the point that cac are swift to bring that up almost as statement of fact that trumps anything else to be said.

I was off work and peep his special on PBS and i found it humorous in a sense that he acknowledge there were two black moors Estevanico The Moor & Juan Garraldo, that travel w/ Spanish explorers hundreds of years before the arrival of slaves to USA.
This however isnt new information, Dr. John Henrik Clarke, Ivan Van Sertima, Carter G Woodson, Professor Leo Wiener, provided evidence of black Moors traveling with Spanish conquistadors decades ago. Why Is Gates just now attempting to unveiled this? Also Gates amply fails to educate why the Spaniards had black Moors as guides. Because West Afrikan muslims knew of the ancient trade routes to the Americas long before Columbus. Nor did he discuss the Moors job in Europe for 800 years and how the Moors losing control of Granada, Spain, leads to the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade. Was this was a simple oversight on Gates? Nah it was not it was more an omission of the truth.
