DeMo getting paid before off season fukkery is a welcome surprise :obama:

I'm genuinely curious how this team has money to spend next season.
Mooney Ward is gone after this season. They are basically telling DeMo he's gonna be CB1 and they hope Green can continue to develop and become CB2 in 2025.

This is gonna be an unpopular opinion but I don't think Demo is CB1. I'm not mad he got paid because a high CB2 who is young and could be even better is fine with me. Also versatile as hell.

But I don't think he has a Ward career type of year in him like Mooney had last year. Just not the same talent for cooverage.

Green has tho. Green has a really high ceiling

I will say thats a long contract and I think he can be a good safety to end his career. So I think it s a good signing of a young corner.

All this tells me is Ward is gone and he's basically replacing his salary and they like what they've seen from Green and Mustapha on the back end

Exactly. That's a hell of a statement to do at this point in the season though. Every other contract they've done in the off season. It's like they can't help, but to rock the boat right when things get a little stable.

Deebo and Aiyuk are both looking somewhat expendable now. Purdy can likely get as much production out of Jennings and Pearsall moving forward. Deebo is still very much a playmaker, not saying he isn't but he cannot run the ball anymore. He's averaging like 3 yards a carry.

Aiyuk is a great route runner but Pearsall is looking like he can find his spots and also has the shiftiness to take it to the house.

Aiyuk just got paid and had season ending injury, there's nothing we can do about him but keep him for the foreseeable future because no team is gonna want him, so :manny: we made our bed with him. Deebo is probably gone as soon as the team can cut him without fukking up the cap :mjcry:

Yall shouldve called his bluff and traded him to the steelers

I was always of the idea of letting him play his final year and test free agency. He wasn't going to hold out the entire season and considering how he looked the few games he played, he was going to look just as rusty/unprepared when he came back.

The difference here is Demo is an UFA after the season. With bosa Trent and BA they were all under contracts.
