Donald Trump approval rating today: Polls show Trump's highest approval rating so far

Donald Trump's presidential approval ratings appear immune to the somewhat chaotic start to his second term and the most recent onslaught of tariffs and trade wars — hitting his all-time high, according to new poll data.
The national NBC News poll shows Trump's approval rating at 47% with more registered voters seeing the US as heading in the right direction than at any point since early 2004. Albeit, the majority of Americans still say the country is on the wrong track and he holds a higher rate of 51% that disapprove of his performance as president right now, according to the report.
The poll shows that despite the slightly higher disapproval numbers over Trump's overall presidential job performance, the margin is closer than at any other point during his first term. Other noteworthy results of the poll include an increased number of Republicans identifying with MAGA, more Americans "have come around" on his deportation-focused immigration policies and they like the general concept behind the Department of Government Efficiency and Trump's efforts to cut government jobs and spending.

One poll result in particular showed that voters are quite evenly split on the future 2026 midterm elections as a divided Democratic party, facing record-low popularity, is trying to figure how to respond to Trump. That record low shows just 27% of registered voters viewing the Democratic party positively, among a total that included 59% of self identified Democrats.
In a White House press release Monday, the administration shared with other news sources the same poll results, citing “Trump ties for highest approval he’s ever had — as more Americans say US is on right track than any time in 20 years: poll”
Other presidential approval rating polls for Trump have held steady since his first day in office. Despite mounting fears of recession amid a volatile stock market, continued mass firings of government workers, and tariffs, Trump's overall job performance remained at a 44% approval rating after 50 days into his second term, according to the most Reuters/Ipsos poll.
It also shows that public approval of his current job so far has remained higher than his first term in office and higher than former President Joe Biden overall.

Here's what the most current polls show about Trump's presidential ratings right now.

What is Trump's presidential approval rating today?

The most recent Reuters/Ipsos poll, shows that despite a steady 44% approval rating since taking office, other areas of his job performance have changed. Americans’ view on his handling of the economy, for example, have gone from 43% in late January to 39% this week.
When questioned whether Trump's moves to shake up the economy were too erratic, the polls show 57% concurred. When questioned on tariffs, 32% thought they were a good idea versus 53% who thought they were bad. And 53% of those polled felt that tariffs will do more harm than good, while 31% didn't.
In a SSRS/CNN poll, 45% approve of his job as president versus 54% who disapprove. There was some notable difference in approval on more specific topics, such as 51% approved of his immigration handling, 48% approved of his handling of the federal budget and 45% approved of how he was handling the economy.

An Emerson College Polling survey, released after Trump's 50-day mark in office, found 47% of voters approved of his job performance and 45% disapproved. This was a drop from the 49% approval and 41% disapproval rating at the beginning of his second term.
According to the most recent Gallup poll, Trump's job approval rating was averaging 46% since he took office in this second term. His first term overall average was a 41% approval rating. At any given time during both terms thus far, his lowest to highest approval ratings have ranged between 34%-49%.
RealClear Polling which encompasses 13 different pollsters, including those mentioned above, shows Trump favorability at 48.1% versus 48.5% that disapprove, as of today.

I swear, since Trump was president the first time, Ive had more and more breaks from reality, and more existential thoughts, like "Is this really life?" "Are THIS many people really this stupid to vote for this man." I literally can't wrap my head around it. It's been 8 years and I still can't fathom his support at all.

Ehhh, I think were dealing with manipulation here. But we cant accuse the people who would obviously do that, and have done it before, and now have elon musk of doing so...because we dont...wanna seem like the crazy fukkers that did that shyt in the first place? Lol

Too convenient that suddenly, after shotty polling numbers l, they suddenly, for no real reason...start polling better lol if no one is gonna start asking questions and actually always take this admin at face value. Then im done lol

People really think this is going to work itself out anytime soon.
:mjlol: :heh:

The majority of this country who vote are now idiots.

Generation Alpha looks as dumb, maybe dumber and Republicans are making sure of that by creating a shytty education system.

Yes, it was that important of an election.

Zoom out. We are cooked for quite awhile.

it's the curse of a 2 party system

as much of a piece of shyt as trump is, the reality is that most of the country has been bytching about the economy for the past 2 years, and voting for kamala was seen as an extension of that :yeshrug:the country didn't go for it. biden was seen as a weak failure, and kamala is a less than inspiring politician. they shouldn't have run her

and the only other choice was trump, so he won. i guess out of a sense that he would bring down inflation (he won't)

You can't even trust the news anymore. Wasn't there an article last week that said Trump's approval ratings were at an all time low?

It's like when the Ukrainian war started. Some media outlets reported that Ukraine was kicking Russia's ass, while others reported the opposite. Not sure what to believe anymore.
