I've read it, and most of Winslow's stuff, it's good....but it's also too long, really unbelivable in a lot of spots, and over reaching....it basically writes fact as fiction, changing slightly names and events, mostly everything is true, the Castellano hit, the Arellano in Tijuana, and notable events in their rise to power....it is a good read, but when you know the real stories it kind of taints it in a way, it goes from irish mob in NY to CAF in Tijuana, to mercenaries in South America, hookers and madams, it's too epic and over the top...but I love the authors work. My guess would be Hollywood gives this the 'Savages' treatment, which all but dismembers and brutalizes a good book, into a unrecognizable mess.
