I'm not wrong if i say that stats are arguments to rank players. They are not the only arguments of course, but it is important in this league. How can we judge a player that makes his team better, but have lower stats than the year before? How rank a player that puts big stats in a bad team and a player that leads his team to the top of the nba with lower stats?
For example Blake Griffin and Chris Paul are in one of the best team in the nba this season. They will probably make a franchise record at the end of the season. Griffin is a better player than the year before, but he is unselfish and hasn't a huge ego. The only things he wants is winning games and working hard. Anyway we all know his lower stats will hurt the way people rank him in the nba. It's the same thing for Chris Paul.
People want Griffin to score +25 each game to continue the comparison with guys like Karl Malone Charles Barkley.
The nba changed. It's been like 16 years i watch nba games and i can say it changed. It's no more about Franchise players stats, highlights or egos. The great players want to win no matter how. They don't care anymore about their stats, because they know at the end they will be judged on the team success.
In my opinion, this is why we see less +35pt games by franchise players this year......stolen post...before anyone exposes me
