Does the shellcatcher make a difference or is it vanity stuff ?

Have a legal AR and I been seeing some videos of dudes with shell catchers on they shyt, never even realized that was a thing before. Does that actually work? Cloth ones are auto no bc I imagine they would get burned through eventually but they have some metal shyt that looks dope asf



How does it affect recoil ?



Wanna start putting attachments on shyt and giving them BBLs.
