I've seen one while at work and it is going to be QUITE a long time before the biomedical field gets a hold of a 3d printer for that type of purpose. They are still working on it for just plastic for now. I've seen a couple small car parts made using one. Pretty cool technology.

i'v used one but idk what model it was or whatever. All i know is to create something decent like a 3-4 inch figure of a skull it literally takes about 24 hours with the one i was using. You can do multiple things at one time and choose if the object is solid, hollow or has a lattuce inside. They also use a filler for the gaps too so you usually have to chip away that filler when its done.
